With over 400,000 creators across 190 countries, the Spark AR ecosystem has grown quickly, and with this growth, a thriving new marketplace has also taken shape: brands are increasingly seeking creators for a range of AR projects, and more AR creators are building careers and businesses through work-for-hire relationships with brands.
Over the last two years, we’ve quietly nurtured this two-sided marketplace through strategic partnerships with select creators and brands, and today we’re excited to be formalizing and scaling our efforts with the relaunch of the Spark AR Partner Network, a global program designed specifically to help brands and creators successfully build Spark AR experiences.
Approximately 77 partners, consisting of both agencies and individual creators, were vetted and invited into the Spark AR Partner Network for today’s relaunch. This expands the program to nearly 100 creators globally, across 30 countries. We looked closely at a range of criteria, including technical proficiency, creativity, depth of experience, and geographic location, among many other factors to identify partners.
In addition to business development opportunities with brands, Spark AR partners will have access to Facebook’s product teams and technical support resources to help with projects, and will be invited to test and try new Spark AR features and capabilities.
As part of today’s relaunch, we’re rolling out a new Spark AR Partner Network website that will serve the dual needs of this marketplace. For brands, the site is designed to help them quickly discover and connect with expert Spark AR creators. And for Spark AR partners, it’s a new way to showcase their expertise and experience building AR effects across the Facebook family of apps and devices.

We caught up with a few Spark AR partners this week to capture their perspectives and experience participating in the program so far, and how it’s helping them. Here’s a sampling of what we heard:
“The Spark Partner Network is providing us with all the necessary tools and education we need to build world-class AR. It gives us the technical info and access we need, it connects us with a community of highly talented creators, and most importantly, it opens up opportunities to work with brands that are serious about the future of augmented reality.”
— Billy Kelly, CMO, V & Spark AR Partner
“Being a Spark AR partner is incredibly valuable — it allows me to present my services to clients as a reputed professional with proven experience building AR effects. Because this is relatively new technology (to brands and agencies), they often have a limited understanding of the points of difference between creators. This accreditation helps me to stand out as a trustworthy option.”
— Lianne Tokey, Founder, Motionography, Inc. & Spark AR Partner
“Our agency felt a lot of pride for being recognized and invited into the Spark Partner Network. It’s validation that all of our work, our talent and team, has accomplished something great, but also that AR for brands and business is real, it’s taking off! This feeling that we’re part of a global group of creators at the forefront of this technology is incredibly exciting and humbling.”
— Dominic Bilodeau, CEO, Playhybrid & Spark AR Partner
We’re excited to be working with this talented group of creators, and we will continue to evaluate new Spark AR partners. If you're an experienced Spark AR creator, you can apply now on the Spark AR Partner Network website.
While today marks an important milestone in the maturation of the Spark AR ecosystem, there will be much more to share in the near future as we continue to explore new ways we can help all creators groom, grow and monetize their Spark AR skills.
